The Alphabet Project (g-spot)

The goal of The Alphabet Project is to complete an illustrated alphabet for my nursery. In order to actually get it completed before my child graduates high school, I've come up with a scheme to at least get the rough drawings done quickly: everyday, redSAID! will pick a letter from the alphabet which I must illustrate. F for frog is done and posted, todays letter was G. Originally I drew G for goat:

But I don't want to go with an 'animal only' theme, and frankly, the goat is not only ugly, but a little scarey looking too. For some reason goats have always make me think of 'Satan'... odd. So I'm ditching the goat for a musical instrument... you guessed it: G for guitar! Here's a quick sketch of my lonely guitar. It was my favourite Christmas present ever and I've barely used it. Pitty.

Although the neck is a little short, and the copy could be a bit bigger, the linework is there, so it's a start. I wonder what tomorrows letter will be??

Moody Art

A serene face, a smile, peace in the sun. I had planned on doing this in watercolour, but fear took over, so I settled for pencil crayons. I just don't have a good feel for colour.

Drowning? You tell me. What is this thing called 'art' anyhow? Okay, so this isn't 'art' but it's something... what? Therapy?

Word Art (Inspire Me Thursday)

Does this qualify as Word Art? I admit, this wasn't drawn specifically for Inspire Me Thursday, but it is a new (and very rough) sketch and it was drawn on Thurday! I would love to illustrate the entire alphabet, but have so far only done two letters (f and g). I'm due in July with my first baby and thought it would be something nice to do for the nursery... we'll see!

Cake (Illustration Friday)

A quickie this morning, but at least it's new. I have to admit the last few Illustration Friday posts have been past sketches. Thanks for all of your comments, I don't respond often, sorry, but I am grateful. I get a lot of inspiration by checking out your sites too.

No story behind this guy, I wish I was more 'conceptual' but I am accepting the fact that I'm not. I just enjoy drawing, so I've decided it's time I do more. I hope to post much more frequently in the coming months. Although not much of my work get's past the rough stages. Maybe one of these days I'll actually put the time and effort into a 'real' piece.
